Wednesday Fast — Feast on God + FCS Club Launch This Thursday!
Big news—The FCS 'Jesus Encounter Club' starts this Thursday, September 25th! Come hungry for God and ready to invite your friends.
But first—tomorrow is our Wednesday Fast. This week we’re asking: what does it really mean to feast on God?
Jesus said the greatest command is to love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength (Mark 12:30). That sounds huge—but it’s not impossible. To feast on God is to let His Word and the gospel be your daily bread, your first pursuit, and your deepest joy.
Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4). When you feed on His presence, His truth, and His promises, His commands stop feeling heavy—they become life-giving.
Paul puts it this way: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18). Imagine living with constant joy, prayer, and gratitude—that’s what it looks like to feast on God through the gospel.
A Practical Way to Feast on God
Take a verse like John 12:23–24:
“The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
Sit with it. Meditate on it until it sinks into your heart. Let God plant faith in you for that Word to actually come alive in your life.
This is how faith grew in the life of a man of God who was healed from three incurable sicknesses—he clung to God’s Word. Try it yourself. Another great verse to carry is Galatians 2:20:
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Repentance That Leads to Feasting
If you want to feast on God, you also have to starve the flesh. That might mean starting to wean off the social media that’s consuming you. Here’s how:
Repent deeply before a holy, loving God (Psalm 51).
Find an accountability partner who is at the spiritual level you want to reach. Like Joshua served Moses, commit to serve and pray for that person.
Take real, costly steps. Put something in place that actually hurts if you disobey—whether financially or however God leads you. Real repentance is more than words; it’s action.
The gospel is not only the power of God to save—it’s also the daily feast that sustains us. As we fast and pray tomorrow, let’s ask the Lord to make us so full of His love that we overflow with the gospel into our schools!
See you Thursday for the launch of the ‘Jesus Encounter Club’!
Blessings in Christ,
