Wednesday Fast and Prayer! You Can Be a Spark—Like Finney, Tarry Until God Moves!
Thanks for joining us again for another Wednesday of fasting and prayer. Every prayer you pray matters. Every meal you skip in faith is a seed. God sees it. And He’s answering!
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results”
— James 5:16
This week, we’re learning from someone who helped change America: Charles Finney, a revivalist from the 1800s. He lived in a time when it looked like people were too far gone. Violence, racism, addiction, injustice, and religion without power filled the land. Sound familiar?
But Finney believed something powerful: Revival doesn’t happen by accident—it comes when we tarry.
Tarry?
Yeah. Tarry means waiting on God. Staying in prayer. Refusing to quit until heaven breaks in.
Finney would hold revival meetings that lasted days. People fasted, prayed, and cried out for God to move in their cities. And guess what? He did. In Rochester, New York, over 100,000 people turned to Jesus in just one year. It shook the whole region.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.”
— Psalm 126:5
You can be part of something just like that. When we tarry—when we pray, fast, and share the gospel—God shows up. Revival is not just for history books. It’s for your school. Your family. Your city.
You’re not too young. You’re not too late. You’re exactly who God wants to use!
So tomorrow, as you fast and pray with us, ask God for a fresh baptism in the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to set your heart on fire like He did for Finney and the thousands who gathered to seek God.
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy…”
— Acts 2:17
We’re so proud of you. Keep going. Keep pressing. God’s not done yet!
Let’s tarry until the fire falls!
Blessings in Christ,
