Wednesday Fast—The Joy of the Lord & the Power of the Gospel!
We’re so thankful for everyone who’s been jumping in to fast and pray on Wednesdays. Every time you choose to set time apart for Jesus, you’re helping the gospel go forward in our schools and our city. Lives are being changed because you’re saying “yes” to God!
As we fast tomorrow, remember—fasting isn’t just about skipping food. It's an invitation to delight in God. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
How to Do the Wednesday Fast
Try a simple intermittent fast today:
Skip breakfast, drink water or tea, and eat your first meal at lunch.
Use that morning time to pray, read your Bible, or worship.
Ask God to fill you with His joy and strength.
Fasting helps reset your body and your spirit—it clears your mind, helps you focus, and makes it easier to hear God’s voice.
Worship Is Warfare
As you fast, remember that joy is your strength! The Bible says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
When you worship—when you sing, laugh, or just smile and thank God—you push back darkness. Your joy tells the enemy he’s already defeated!
“The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17)
So tomorrow, turn on some worship music, sing loud, and let the joy of Jesus fill your space!
No-Agenda Love
Real revival happens when we come to God just because we love Him—not to get something, but to be with Him. That kind of love changes everything.
Before you chase after your goals or check your phone, take a few minutes to just sit with God. Tell Him you love Him. Ask Him to fill your heart again with the gospel—the good news that Jesus already did everything needed for you to be free.
Healthy Soul Habits
Turn off your phone for a while. Step outside. Go for a walk. Talk to God about what’s really on your heart. Write it down. Pick up something that refreshes you—play basketball, sketch, listen to worship music, read a Psalm, or just breathe.
Remember this promise:
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
Thank you for being part of what God is doing. Every prayer, every fast, every act of faith is helping spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to your friends, schools, and neighborhoods.
Let’s go after His presence today—with joy, with worship, and with no agenda but love!
With joy and gratitude,
