Seeking His Face In Hunger for Holiness and a Generation Transformed
In a culture constantly plugged into noise and distraction, finding true satisfaction can feel elusive. Too often, we try to numb the friction of daily life with endless scrolling, entertainment, or busyness. Yet, spiritual disciplines like fasting and prayer offer an alternative path: setting our hearts and minds on things above, giving us a tangible glimpse of holy, set-apart living.
True spiritual growth asks more of us than merely giving things up. As believers, we are called not just to abstain, but to feed on something truly satisfying.
The Weight of Holiness
Holiness is frequently misunderstood as rigid or restrictive, but the historic church paints a far more compelling picture. A.W. Tozer famously wrote, "A holy man is an awesome and terrifying thing, for in him God moves among men."
Holiness is a journey toward Christlikeness. As the Holy Spirit purifies the believer, we grow in the light and likeness of Jesus within a dark and shifting world. Tozer captured this internal shift well, noting, "You can be sure, the Holy Spirit never enters a man and lets him live like the world."
Walking out this reality requires intentionality. It means casting off sin, fasting from the thoughts that breed anxiety, and putting off every hindrance. Every snare and weight must be laid at the foot of the cross, echoing the instruction of Scripture:
"But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires."
— Romans 13:14 (CSB)
When we surrender these burdens, the Lord initiates His transforming work. Yet, it demands a moment of honest self-examination: Are we truly willing to crucify our flesh, pick up our cross, and follow Christ wherever He leads?
The Apostle Paul urges believers in Romans 12:1–2 (CSB):
"Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."
A Blueprint for Prayer and Awakening
When communities gather in unity to contend for a move of God, prayer naturally moves outward from personal repentance to sweeping generational vision. Key focal points for this season of spiritual awakening include:
Internal Surrender & Repentance: Yielding completely to the Holy Spirit, confessing sin, and returning wholeheartedly to God.
Self-Reflection: Evaluating where our habits mirror the world versus how God desires to transform our character.
Renunciation: Actively renouncing sinful desires to live a holy life reflective of Christ.
Generational Impact: Praying for revival fire to sweep across Generation Z and Generation Alpha.
Structural Vision: Contending for the establishment of 12 Houses of Prayer, the provision to raise up 30 self-supporting staff members, and 120 dedicated intercessors to stand in the gap.
Looking Forward
Contending for a true move of God that transforms and awakens generations requires faithfulness, resilience, and a community walking side-by-side. By keeping our focus fixed on things above, we position ourselves to witness what God is building next.
