Thank You for Fasting! He Is Our Heaven—Let’s Continue to Fast for His Presence!
Thank you for joining us as we fast and pray each Wednesday! Jesus is transforming hearts!
A former Atlanta student leader recently shared:
“The experience in the club helped me see the value of a community in Christ. The experience of being able to learn from and teach others in the faith encouraged me and showed me purpose.
Revelation 12:11 - ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.’
The FCS Club fostered an environment of connecting with others through our testimonies of Jesus' grace, power, and love in our lives.”
This young lady is now in college and we know her life is a powerful witness for Jesus Christ!”
As we fast and pray this week, let this truth echo in our hearts:
“O my Lord Jesus Christ, if I could be in heaven without thee, it would be a hell; and if I could be in hell, and have thee still, it would be a heaven to me, for thou art all the heaven I want.” —Samuel Rutherford
This is the heart of fasting—not to chase blessings or breakthrough, but to hunger for Christ Himself. Not to escape discomfort, but to draw near to the One whose presence is better than life.
“In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” —Psalm 16:11
“Whom do I have in heaven but You?
And with You, I desire nothing on earth.” —Psalm 73:25
Jesus is not a means to heaven—He is heaven. And when we fast, we declare to our bodies, our schedules, and our souls that nothing satisfies like Him.
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.” —Matthew 4:4
This kind of fasting isn’t about willpower—it’s about presence. It’s a gospel hunger that says, I would rather be in the wilderness with Jesus than at a feast without Him.
So this Wednesday, we fast not for comfort, but for communion. We pray not for hype, but for His heart.
Let’s pray:
For students to crave Jesus more than approval or entertainment
For schools to be filled with the knowledge of His glory
For teachers, leaders, and parents to be renewed by His presence
For a revival led not by noise, but by nearness
He is the reward.
He is the goal.
He is our heaven!
United for the harvest,
