Join Us Tomorrow — Fast, Pray, and Feast on God’s Love and Word!

As we come together this Wednesday for fasting and prayer, we want to share a simple but life-giving invitation:

“Fast the world in order to feast on God’s love — His Presence and His Word in a deeply relational manner.”

This is not just a slogan — it’s a biblical posture of the heart. When we fast the world, we intentionally set aside distractions, comforts, entertainment, or even good things to make space for the best thing: Jesus.

We don’t fast just to “give something up”; we fast to open our hearts to more of His love, presence, and transforming Word. We fast so we can feast on God’s love and God’s Word — and be filled with fresh passion to share the gospel.

Here are five Scriptures to guide and inspire us:

Psalm 63:1 — “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.”
David models a heart that longs for God like a thirsty traveler longs for water. When we fast, we train our hearts to say, “God, You are my greatest desire.” We turn from the world’s dry wells to feast on His living presence.

Matthew 6:17–18 — “But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father… and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Jesus teaches that fasting is for the Father’s eyes, not for show. And when we fast in secret, the Father rewards us — often with deeper intimacy, joy in His presence, and fresh power to live and share the gospel.

John 6:35 — “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’"
Jesus Himself is the feast. As we fast from earthly appetites, we remind our souls that only Christ satisfies. We feast on His Word, His promises, and His presence — and we’re filled to overflow with His gospel love.

James 4:8 — “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
Fasting clears away the noise that distracts us. As we draw near to God in humility and repentance, He draws near with love — to heal, cleanse, and fill us, making us bold to carry His gospel to others.

Romans 12:2 — “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Fasting breaks our agreement with the world’s patterns and makes room for God’s transforming truth. As we meditate on His Word, our minds are renewed, and we’re shaped into passionate gospel carriers.

This Wednesday, as we fast and pray:

  • Feast on God’s love.

  • Feast on His Word.

  • Worship deeply.

  • Pray boldly.

  • Ask for fresh hunger and fresh fire.

Let’s pray especially for:

  • Personal revival — deeper intimacy with Jesus

  • Revival in our schools, cities, and nation

  • Strength for young leaders and disciples to rise up

  • Wisdom and provision for the vision ahead

Let’s cry out that God would give us a deep, deep, deep passion for lost souls so that millions would be born again and swept into God’s Kingdom. “Plunder hell and populate Heaven!”

United for the harvest,
Joseph and the Crossroads Team
