Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July!
First, thank you for continuing to support Crossroads through your prayers and generosity. As Paul said in Philemon 1:4, “I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers.” Our gospel mission would not be possible without you.
Today, we celebrate 249 years of American independence, remembering the great cost of our nation’s freedom. But even as fireworks light up the sky, we know there’s a deeper battle raging for the soul of our country—for biblical truth, justice, and the next generation.
“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.”
More than ever, we must rise as sons and daughters of the Most High God—contending in prayer for America to remain one nation under God. Because while we honor the freedoms granted through our Constitution, we rejoice even more in the freedom that Jesus purchased with His blood:
“So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.” —John 8:36
A Forgotten Moment of Prayer That Helped Shape a Nation
Did you know the U.S. Constitution might never have been written without a call to prayer?
In 1787, during the bitter debates of the Constitutional Convention, it seemed the effort to unify the states was falling apart. It was in that moment that 81-year-old Benjamin Franklin stood up and boldly reminded the room:
“Have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?… I therefore beg leave to move—that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven… be held in this Assembly every morning…”
Roger Sherman, a humble man of deep faith and the only founder to sign all four of America’s founding documents, seconded Franklin’s motion. From that day forward, the assembly opened each session in prayer. Unity came. Compromise was reached. And a Constitution was written that would change the world.
It wasn’t just politics—it was prayer. And it made all the difference.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” —Psalm 127:1
Let’s Be the Ones Who Remember
That’s why we’ve launched our 40-Day Fast for Revival in America (June 28–August 6). We’re crying out for divine protection, guidance, and revival—for our youth, our schools, our churches, and our cities.
And because of a generous donor, every dollar you give right now will be doubled through our $25,000 Matching Gift Challenge—fueling the gospel to reach more students with the hope and power of Christ!

You Are Part of the Story
Thank you again for every prayer and every dollar you’ve sown into this ministry. You may not always see the fruit immediately—but your faithfulness matters. The gospel is going forward, and God sees every sacrifice.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” —Galatians 6:9
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” —1 Corinthians 15:57
As America celebrates freedom, let’s keep contending for eternal freedom—for revival that will sweep through the youth of this generation and bring a great awakening to our land.
Freedom has a sound—and it starts in prayer!
United for the harvest,
Joseph and the Crossroads Team
