Today starts our 40 Day Fast for America (June 28th-August 6th)! Join us as we cry out for revival in our nation, especially for our youth!
America has been here before—a time of spiritual decline, moral confusion, and coldness toward God. But history tells us: when God’s people fast and pray, He moves.
During the First Great Awakening, God used trembling voices and broken vessels to awaken a sleeping nation. One of the clearest examples was Jonathan Edwards’ sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”
Preached in 1741, Edwards didn’t shout or stir emotion with theatrics. But as he described the reality of sin, judgment, and hell—the Holy Spirit fell with overwhelming power. People interrupted the sermon, crying out for mercy. Some grabbed the pews in fear that they might fall into hell that very moment.
Edwards’ message was clear: Judgment is real. Hell is near. But the door of mercy stands wide open because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
